Transition Programs:

Transition To  High School

Scotch Plains Fanwood High School

prepares Students for Life

This spring, in cooperation with Park and Terrill Middle Schools, the Municipal Alliance Committee (MAC) and The C.H.I.L.D. Organization of Scotch Plains Fanwood is planning an After-School enrichment program to ALL eighth-grade students who will be transitioning from Middle School to High School

The high school environment can place greater academic and social expectations on our adolescent children as goals at this level begin to mature and longer range plans now begin to encompass post graduation, career paths and secondary education options.

Counselors from Resolve will facilitate the program. The objectives of this program are to prepare students for their transition from the middle school environment to the high school environment by teaching and strengthening appropriate skills to create a proper balance between academic, social and personal schedules.   Students will be focused on recognizing their personal accomplishments and individual changes both positive and negative throughout their middle school experience and will be further assisted in building on their strengths.

This Transition to High School program will run after school one day each week for 4 weeks.  Currently the schedule of dates is being planned and forms will be sent home soon.
