About Dyslexia is presented by the following Learning Specialists:  

 

Keara Kilpatrick:  Ms. Kilpatrick received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12) from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia.  Ms. Kilpatrick was a member of the West Virginia Wesleyan Woman’s Soccer NCAA Division II team for four years and served as Team Captain during her senior year.  She has previously taught Elementary and Middle School students  and has extensive experience working one-on-one with international students.  Ms. Kilpatrick brings broad-based training and educational expertise to her students along with a love and dedication to sports as well. She has established athletic programs which have grown and expanded to include team and individual sports for students as well. She is currently a Master Learning Therapist and has been a tutor for the Afternoon Education Program for more than decade.

  

Joni Werther:  Mrs. Werther is a Learning Therapist with 20 years of teaching experience and serves as a Clinic Test Administrator. Mrs. Werther acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech/Journalism Communications from Rider University and obtained a Teacher of the Handicapped Certification from Georgian Court College in Lakewood, New Jersey.  She received New Jersey State Teacher Certification in Elementary Education in 1991 and has extensive practice with integrated phonics based programs, multi-modality instruction and social skills teaching.  Mrs. Werther also earned a certificate of Teacher Training in Phonological Awareness and Phonics from the Society For Developmental Education Program.
