Children Having Individual Learning Disabilities

The C.H.I.L.D. Organization - Scotch Plains Fanwood Chapter is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization, which dedicates itself to providing resources and supports to children and their families where there is a learning difference or challenge.  C.H.I.L.D. works in cooperation with, but is not limited to, School Districts and their Departments, Parent and Teacher Associations, Resolve and the Municipal Alliance Committee.

The C.H.I.L.D. Chapter of Scotch Plains Fanwood have planned programs for parents, caregivers, teachers and professionals for this school year.  Program workshops are open to all.  Workshops are designed to also provide Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for member professionals and teachers.

Other community and scholastic events for this year will include The Recycling Fundraiser, Coffee and Tea with Mr. "B", Annual Student Programs for Transition, participation in Local Parades and Student Tributes and Awards.  If you are interested in helping at any of these events, or serving on any C.H.I.L.D. Committees, please send email to, I want to help.  You can also call for more information or if you have any questions at 908.764.0694.

A Special Awareness Announcement

Bullying is NOT kids just being kids.  It is a situation that has become a problem and is the fault of adults!

If your child is being bullied in any way, YOU probably are not even aware of it.  Furthermore, your child will keep it to him/herself, even though the affects are present. If you need help or have any questions please contact the:
